MEAN GIRLS PRESS JUNKET

For this I was specifically asked to go to a press junket for Mean Girls (2024) and I couldn’t say yes fast enough. The amount of prep and research that went into knowing every actor's filmography only to be granted 8 minutes (no, not 10, 8) with each group of actors was staggering but I still managed to capture everything we needed. And now this series sits as some of the most popular shorts on the Paramount Movies channel. It was fast paced, challenging but very rewarding all at the same time. 10/10, would interview Tina Fey again.

GLADIATOR 2: DIGITAL SHORT

Fun fact this video was originally meant to be a tour of the Roman Colosseum. I did a lot of research into the different entrances, statues, level and water system that allowed them to fill and subsequently drain the floor. And yet as I walked out of the theater the part that people had the most difficulty believing was that they were able to transport sharks there somehow. Not the millions of gallons of water; the sharks.

Anyways, go see Gladiator 2, it has Denzel.

good burger 2 - digital short

These are exactly the kind of stories I want to tell when I produce behind the scenes interviews with actors. I love hearing about the mistakes, the mishaps, all the little insignificant details that lead to a piece of media being made. It’s my hope that when audiences come away from my videos they don’t just learn a little factoid but get a better sense of the person telling the story. Maybe Kel has since embellished on the story in the 30+ years he’s been telling it to camera crews but, hey, they kept it in the edit. Looks real enough to me.

avatar: did you know?

If memory serves me correctly this was the first Did You Know style short we premiered on the Avatar channel and up until recently had the highest view count at 8.2M views. Quick, simple and very much to the point it’s hard to argue that taking obscure pieces of lore turning them into shorts isn’t an amazing strategy.

SHORTLY AFTER PUBLISHING, THIS WAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST VIEWED VIDEOS ON THE AVATAR CHANNEL.

icarly short: β€œspencer things”

I love parodies and I love mashing completely different IPs together for fun videos. Though this didn’t blow up the way I was hoping it would, I'm still very proud of it nonetheless. Maybe when season 5 of Stranger Things finally comes out…

zoey 102: fashion reactions

Much of the Zoey 102 captured content was turned into shorts for fast and easy viewing. One thing I always strive to do with these types of edits is find the little moments in between to add jokes through creative sound design or funny supporting clips. It’s the little things that can easily be used to plus up and make something feel more complete; even if it’s just two people reacting to an iPad.

tmnt: who are the kraang?

Very similar to the above DYK for Avatar, I also have produced and edited shorts for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their many iterations. Sometimes shorts don’t even need to be obscure pieces of lore but straightforward explanatory concepts for new and returning fans alike. This was also a chance to test new tools for subtitles which any video hoping to break through needs.
